On the night before the execution, Sayyid Qutb (may Allah have mercy on him) was sent to the Imam of the jail to teach Kalima. The Imam of the jail came and tried to teach Sayyid Qutb the Kalima. Seeing him, Sayyid Qutb asked the Imam, “Why have you come here?” The Imam said, “I have come to teach you Kalima.” It is my duty to insult the accused before executing him. Syed Qutb was a little surprised

Who gave you this responsibility? Imam said, the government has given.
Sayyid Qutb asked,
Do you get paid in return?
The Imam said,
Yes, I get salary and allowance from the government.
Then Sayyid Qutb said, what a surprise! I am being hanged for the crime of informing the Muslim Ummah about the stigma that you get paid for teaching!
So he said in surprise
“Your word gives you bread,
And my word hangs me! “
Sayyid Qutb’s words touched the hearts of the whole world and he was revered by the whole world. For this book of commentary, it is as if it is not an acceptance, it is a magic magic, may Allah Almighty grant us all the grace.
