Former Pakistan Air Force official doubts US rescue operation
Former Pakistan Air Force Colonel Sultan M. Hali has questioned the ‘success’ of the US rescue operation in an interview with Sputnik.
According to Trump’s claim, no US troops were killed or injured while rescuing an F-15 pilot; however, Hali believes that the absence of casualties alone is not the measure of success.
According to him, if the operation destroyed a large number of expensive warplanes and equipment, it cannot be called a ‘perfect success’.
Such operations with dozens of aircraft deep in enemy airspace are extremely risky, and historically, governments have concealed or delayed the information about losses to maintain morale.
Hali warned that losing advanced military equipment or letting it fall into enemy hands is a strategic disaster that will weaken US defenses in the long run.
